Doug Brown made a motion to approve the March 18, 2008 minutes emailed to the parents. Sharon Chamberlin seconded.
Motion approved.
Chris thanked the chaperones for the Mets trip. Stated “Honored to play opening day”
Also thanked Jim Tishion, Cliff Clare and Doug Brown for keeping guard by walking the halls. Bob Stone for taking the
pictures and the press release.
Chris stated that the Band Parents picked up the amount of the buses from the kids to save parents money because of
the Virginia Beach trip. It was important to Jon to keep the
price down to get more students to go.
Chris Carlone also thanked the color guard for a great season. May show the videos of the Fall and Winter shows at
Incoming Freshmen Night to see what fun there is to have.
Carol Stone thanked the parents who came out to support the Drum line competition on April 5th.
Carol Stone went over the Treasurer’s report and stated the following:
Paid all expenses for the Mets trip. As of 4/22, not anticipating having to pay for school buses for local competitions
in CT. But won’t know till the later in school year.
A parent asked about how much uniforms will cost: These prices are estimated at $200.00 – jacket, 125.00 –
pants, $400.00 +/- whole uniform. May need to have the students purchase their
pants.
Carol Stone has talked with Cousins in Stamford, who
we purchased the concert attire from about uniforms pants-bibbers. They will
come to the school and fit the students with pants and shoes. Less work for the parents with no financial outlay.
Motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s report by Carol Couch and seconded by Diane Lewis. Motion approved.
Chris asked for a vote to approve the bylaws into the organization. Vote was by a show of hands from the 17 people
present. All approved.
Upcoming Bottle drive is May 31. Carol Couch will talk with Stop and Shop about getting dates for June and July. Details
to follow. Carol encouraged that the students can still put the receipt slips in the lock box.
Uniforms - Mary Fuller and Carol Couch asked for help to clean the uniforms
for the Memorial Day parade. Garment bags were destroyed after the Mets game and will need to purchase new ones. See Mary
or Carol if you can help. And will also announce to the parents at the Va Beach trip meeting the need for help in cleaning
uniforms. Suggestion was made to write down if anything is damaged on the uniform when you are cleaning it.
Carol Stone suggested looking into ordering new garment bags to put the clean uniforms into.
Fundraising info – Chris Carlone and Anna Farrell spoke with Donna Luzi recently about expectations of fundraising.
Donna approved the selling of fresh fruit. But will have to let us know about the Pie and cookie fundraiser.
Debbie Comer spoke about the Dinner dance on August 16. Flyers will be handed out at the meeting later. It will be
held at the Crown Plaza
in Southbury. $65.00 per person for a 4 course meal, cash bar. Also has a deal with the hotel if anyone wants to stay overnight.
$100. discounted rate. Looking for someone to help with donations and auction gifts. This is a big money maker. Tickets on
sale now. See Anna Farrell or Debbie Comer. More information is on the web site.
Carol Stone suggested having a joint effort with Sarah Nobel and SMS bands parents. With a portion of the tickets go
back to their school band organization. Attendees in attendance agreed as a great idea. Debbie stated she will talk with other
committee members and get back to us.
Debbie also asked if Bob Stone could put the pictures of last years dinner dance on the web site under the Dinner dance.
Tag and vendor sale – May 18 in the HS cafeteria. Need vendors or craft people. For the tag sale, email will
go out with list of items accepted and other details.

Vendors should contact Debbie, Anna or Krista Roberts.
Chris Carlone asked for 2 people to be on the nominating committee for the upcoming election. Doug Brown and Mary Mercer
stepped up. Email will go out to contact them if anyone would like to run for President, Secretary or Treasurer.
Planning is being done to go to the Citrus Bowl in December during winter break. Looking into different companies for
the best price to save the students money. Fundraisers will also be done to offset the cost of the trip.
